Marty Allen, 1922 - 2018

Marty Allen, the legendary comedian and one half of the famed comedy team Allen & Rossi has passed away at age 95.

Together with his comedy partner Steve Rossi, Marty Allen brought laughs to television as one of Ed Sullivan’s favorite comedy acts. Mr. Allen’s act was so favored by Ed Sullivan that they were given a slot on one of the biggest live broadcasts in the history of television- the U.S. television debut of The Beatles.

After breaking up with Mr. Rossi, Mr. Allen continued to book roles both comedic and serious on television. A mainstay of panel game and variety shows in the 1970’s, Marty Allen continued to tour the world, this time with his wife, before settling down in the 1980’s. In recent years, Marty Allen still kept performing, staying close to home in Las Vegas. One of the last ties to television’s early years, Mr. Allen became a favorite of nostalgia programming, often sharing his showbiz stories with audiences both young and old.
